as a scrub tech (I hand instruments to the surgeon). It was cataracts day. We did a lot of surgeries, and at the end of the day I was exhausted and happy. Well, happy except for the last one. This elderly lady had small eyeballs, so the pressure in her eye was extremely high, which made it dangerous to operate on. In the end, the surgeon decided not to risk it. I held her hand the whole way through. >
