I blog for my readers – I hope that they feel that what I type out onto the computer screen is real and impacts on them in some way. I also blog for me – because I think that sometimes it is cathartic to share my thoughts and feelings with people who seem to care and understand me.
Blogging isn’t something that everyone understands … I don’t think that my husband fully understands why I blog, I don’t think that some of my colleagues understand why I blog (or how I have time for blogging *I can hear your sniggers*), and I definitely don’t think that my in-laws understand why I blog or what blogging even is.
I like that my in-laws don’t understand it and probably can’t find this blog … because sometime I feel that I need to blog about them, as they have such a massive impact on my life.
But what happens if they do find this blog?
I’ve been warned about what could happen – it happened to Good Golly Miss Holly when her in-laws found her blog. I feel for you Holly because you know what … I’ve lived with my in-laws too.
Oh well… THIS IS MY LIFE – and this isn’t sugar coated.
I blog here about my cooking (so you can all drool over it and maybe one day be as fabulous as me - jokes), my gardening (or lack thereof at the moment), my impending motherhood (that’s right folks – there is only 7 weeks to go until a baby arrives on the scene), and my thoughts on general life topics (which often appear in mainstream media or could be drawn from life experiences with my in-laws).
This is my blog and this is me. I don’t want to sugar coat it and make out it is perfection 100% of the time, because that’s not what life is. Sometimes life is shit, but if we didn’t have the shit times then we wouldn’t recognise the amazing times and we definitely wouldn’t appreciate them.
So thanks in-laws for the sucky times because without them I wouldn’t know what a great life I really have.
*no in-laws have been harmed in the writing of this blog… YET** however, my feeling and emotions are another matter all together.
